Owning Projections

By | February 28, 2016

Many folks have been exposed to the concept from Jungian psychology about the need to own one’s projections in order to become whole. The traits I encounter in others that we find either annoying or despicable on the one hand, or admirable on the other, are really just projections of parts of myself that I have yet to accept and integrate into my sense of self. This is an important skill to master in this life. But I suspect it doesn’t end there.

When I make my transition through death and encounter God, I will find that God too is a projection. I will be challenged to accept God and integrate God into my sense of self as a projection of my infinite potential to be, create and love. And in that way expand into a greater sense of self in which I own oneness with the Divine.

On second thought, why wait until I die?
